THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

It was with great excitement that Pastor Daniel and the CRFC Board shared the vision for Oakhill Jackson Community Church and Cedar Rapids Family Church to merge together as one "new" church! There is a FAQ’s handout available at Guest Services or you can go online for more information. Any additional questions can be directed to the Board members of either church. Please pray as we continue on this journey together.



CITY WIDE WORSHIP & PRAYER | OCTOBER 22

Mark your calendars now and make plans to join with other congregations and leaders from around the city for a night of worship and prayer. We will meet Sunday evening, October 22, at New Covenant Bible Church (3090 North Center Point Road, CR) Doors open at 5:30 and the evening begins at 6:00. MONTHLY PRAYER | WED., OCTOBER 25

Mark your calendars now! We’ve invited the Oakhill Jackson congregation to join us for our monthly prayer time. The date is Wednesday, October 25, from 7:00-8:00 pm.



OAKHILL JACKSON TRUNK-OR-TREAT/GLOWOWT PARTY

  • TRUNK-OR-TREAT | Friday, October 27, from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Oakhill property (1202 10th ST SE) The theme is “I have finished the race.” 2 Timothy 4:7. They are looking for trunks (cars), volunteers, and candy donations.  
  • GLOWOWT PARTY | Its a dance party for ages 8-college. (Any one below 8 can come with supervision.) We will have game, food and prizes. There will be praise dances, Christian singing and rap acts, spoken word etc. The party will be from 7:00-10:00 pm. They are looking for baked goods and candy for this portion of the night.

Save the date for our annual Christmas Celebration, Saturday, December 2. Details to follow. We will be inviting our sisters from Oakhill Jackson to join us that morning. We hope you all will join us.

Mark is ready to come home but there is still more work to be done! The only obstacles standing in his way are the improvements needed to his home. DROP INN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We need volunteers on Saturdays to help with a variety of duties and tasks at Drop Inn Resale Store (1625 J St SW, CR.) Contact Paula Pino at the store for more information or to sign up, (319) 396-3164.



CHRISTMAS SHOEBOX OUTREACH

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that reaches poor and less fortunate children all over the globe with the love of Christ, one shoe box at a time. Check out the insert in today’s bulletin for instructions on how to pack a box. Then pick up your box at the table in the lobby today. We will be collecting shoe boxes until Sunday, November 12.



LEADERSHIP LUNCH

If you missed the October 2 Leadership Lunch, we encourage you to go online and listen to the teaching. It is available on the “media” page on www.crfamily.org



LIFE GROUPS HAVE STARTED

Life Groups have started. We are highlighting two groups in the lobby today. Our Simpler Living group meets on Friday nights, and Jacqueline Hullaby is the leader. The GPS group is meeting at the home of Dr. James & Lisa Coyle on Wednesday nights. Stop by the table and talk to either one of these leaders if you are interested in one of these groups. MISSIONS TRIP TO COLOMBIA | SEPTEMBER 2018

The CRFC Missions Team is currently planning a trip to visit missionaries Jerry and Barb Manderfield at their Christ for the Nations school in Colombia (www.cpncolombia.com) During this trip we will interact with students from the school and do some light construction work. The trip details are still being worked out. However, the tentative dates for the trip are in the last half of September 2018. If you are interested, please save those dates. RACHEL’S VINEYARD WEEKEND RETREAT | NOV. 10-12

Bridgehaven is holding a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat the weekend of November 10-12 at Prairiewoods in Hiawatha. This retreat offers healing to any woman, man, or couple who is struggling with the pain that follows an abortion.
